FDA has implemented new regulations for the food trace-back industry, and are Considering mandatory trace-back requirements for meat and poultry products. Will we see more competitors regulated by the FDA?
Since the FDA started to regulate trace-back drugs inregation with food trace-back agencies, we can expect the trace-back industry to change again in the near future. The new FDA proposal allows certain organizations to vertically integrate their trace-back operations, and reduce their trace liability. By not forcing companies to physically transfer their produce or livestock products, the new FDA regulations will hasten the time when the trace liability is zero.
The trace liability issue became a hot button issue not long ago when the FDA conducted a study and discovered that species of fish that can survive in tap water have a tendency to secrete toxic compounds when they’re bored. In 2011, the journal Science Daily reported that environmental test kits are increasing at a rate of about 900% and it is difficult to know the source of a sample because of this.
What is Cloud Computing?
Cloud Computing is a data storage and virtualization technology which can be hosted or located on the Internet. Users, Platform, Hardware and Servers will be the typical applications for Cloud Computing. The typical server will have an in-built Intel Pentium 4 processor, 512MB RAM, and 40GB Hard Drive. Users access the data residing on the server by a web browser, a standard web browser or a Cloud Layer app developed by the Apache Software Foundation.
Cloud servers are facilitated by Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Windows Azure, Salesforce, Dropbox and Sycarsync. A number of cloud providers offer cloud computing to both private and hybrid clouds.
Private clouds are private computer networks directly managed by a vendor. An example of private cloud is Amazon’s Soaas VPN, which is routed through a VPN Server. While a private cloud network offers much enhanced security than a public cloud network, it is managed by a vendor and shielded from the problems of day to day computing.
Hybrid clouds are combination of private and public clouds. Both private and public clouds exist on the same server like dual-active cloud and private cloud. Another example of hybrid cloud is Microsoft’s Surface Cloud. Private clouds are managed by the manufacturer while public clouds are managed by a third party.
Cloud Computing Models
The Deployment Model of Cloud Computing isoscope. This model defines a path like:
How does it deploy?
With a Private Cloud Deployment Model and aWorkstation Operating System you can
There are 3 types of clouds that can reside on your server.
1. Private Cloud – sells services to you ( branded, Infrastructure only or infrastructure and software as a service).
2. Public Cloud – sells services to all comers.
3. Hybrid Cloud – combines public and private cloud services.
When to deploy private cloud?
Businesses will deploy private clouds when they need extra reliability and security or when they have a will requirement for extra disk space.
Remember to measure the value in dollars you are buying and to understand what level of service you will receive. Be sure to include all costs in your analysis.
What level of service do I need?
You need as much reliability as is reasonable from your cloud provider. If you are not able to meet their requirements you will get stunning amounts of downtime which will cost your business money.
Are you prepared to handle these requirements?
The right provider knows that they need to support a business and are willing to go to bat on your behalf.
How do I know that the service is right for my business?
Ask yourself some simple questions:
* Do you have the right skill set and experience?
* Do you have the budget to improve it?
* Will it improve your business?
* Will it make you money?
If you find that you need a little more from your cloud partner than what you pay for it, you are perfectly within your rights to switch to a different provider.
People usually get charged for what they understand and need. Most times, even if they don’t understand it they will be happy to pay for it.
So it the right time to find out what cloud provider will suit your business.
